The Kardashev scale describes a Type-II species as 'one capable of harnessing the power of an entire solar system'. In the not-so-distant future, the peoples of Earth make first contact with just such a species.
Humanity does not survive.
In a handful of minutes, the planet is annihilated and the Sun harvested. All of humanity is lost—save one already damaged soul: Ryan McBain.
The Endpoint series follows Ryan as he forges a new life among the stars and encounters other powerful life forms. With a small cadre of friends and reluctant allies, he works from the fringes to unravel the truth behind a relentless force that is slowly consuming the entire Milky Way, system by system. Covert insurrection is rarely clear-cut or clean. To survive and advance the cause, Ryan must offer up his body, his mind, and possibly even his life. As the last human in the universe, he must embrace his own shadows and harness his inner chaos to fight the encroaching darkness. Only then will he have any hope of navigating through to the Endpoint.

A final shadow swallows the Sun and Earth, and in mere minutes, humanity is erased from the cosmos—all save one.
When Ryan McBain regains consciousness, he is drifting alone in orbit. He soon comes to realize that life as he knew it is gone. In a handful of minutes, a savage force destroys his home planet, and a dark evil consumes his host star. As he is left in darkness and injured near death, a family of alien scavengers happen upon the last human. Their culture follows the Peaceful Path, and the family rescues him in more ways than one.
A higher purpose is in play for Ryan, and the path forward is twisted by mysterious correlations to his troubled past. Death is a constant presence and fuels a madness that drives him to the doorstep of ancient lifeforms. Using images from his past to communicate, a race of stellar beings makes first contact with the last of humanity. Through a shared cognitive overlap, an unlikely alliance is formed.
Along with the tender camaraderie of quirky ancient beings, Ryan is presented with a means to travel the galaxy. All the while, an evil presence continues to drive a horde of dark minions across the Milky Way and threatens the lives of billions.
The purpose of the new alliance is to face off with the end. Ryan knows that to kill a monster, you must first understand it. However, living long enough to know this enemy is far easier said than done.
Endpoint: Book 1 - Day Zero is the first book in a gripping science fiction adventure that chronicles the last of humanity traveling in space, forming alliances with advanced alien life, and evolving to counter dark forces.
The Endpoint series continues as Ryan and Violet make first contact with a god-like mega-neutron star. The encounter draws them into a veritable star chamber and a questionable welcome.
Using images from Ryan’s own memory, the otherworldly encounter conveys a message and a path to discover long-lost technology.
Meanwhile, the Daerk rampage drives on, and countless stellar structures fall to the Lumuera. Unchecked proliferation of the darkness creates an imbalance in the galaxy and draws the attention of other powerful, advanced species, each with uncertain motives.
From Ryan’s perspective, a curious gravity draws together a handful of survivors. As the number of aligned associates grows, Ryan and Violet make a shocking discovery, and even stranger alliances are forged. With a growing rebellion that includes outcasts and gangsters, the line between enemies and allies is blurred.
The deeper Ryan and Violet wade into this New Life, the more they come to understand the dangerous double-edge of their role. In a precarious dance between salvation and destruction, the battles to come will involve manipulating time and unleashing forces of pure power. To become a conduit of these forces and restrain their cataclysmic nature, Ryan must be prepared to sacrifice everything—even his own life.
Book 3 in the Endpoint series sees two forces collide to form the least likely pair in the known universe…
Ryan journeys to Centauri to learn who marked Earth for destruction, but he’s drawn to a greater mystery in the form of Khattara Eschala, a royal outcast who channels a strange mix of rage and compassion into unparalleled combat skill.
For more than a century, Khattara has fought alone and etched out her own survival. Help was never provided, and she learned not to ask. Yet with each passing moment, both warriors are startled by the ease with which they combine their talents into a magnificent force. A strange intuition connects them, or perhaps it’s something deeper.
Meanwhile, the fleet of ships under the Aunts continues to grow, and Ryan taps a burgeoning connection to stellar energy that augments his special abilities. The Lumuera senses the Confluence, and it’s drawn toward our galaxy to crush the growing threat.
With the lives of Elder beings hanging in the balance, the stakes are high, and the confrontation is certain to bring everything to the brink of destruction
BEHIND THE SCREEN
The late-night glow first reflected off my face while writing about Eschala Khattara and her adventures with Ryan. There’s a certain magic in the process of two sharp objects discovering that they fit together. These two characters (along with my “book music”) formed a private escape into another world.
Encouraged by a few trusted friends, I decided to pursue publishing. The number of chapters had grown to the point that it was necessary to split the story into five volumes, and my focus narrowed to finishing the first book. An initial investigation into self-publishing caused me to bravely retreat back and complete the second manuscript: Endpoint: Book 2 - New Life. At first glance, self-publishing seemed like a narrow twisting road through a steep mountain pass. However, it’s been a fantastic journey, and the first two books in the series are now available.
